Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – A Kingdom Perspective Movie Review
Is it strange that in every movie like this there is someone who wants to take over the world, or rule a city? While such a scenario sets the stage for some good conflict (and fights), what do villains hope to achieve by governing a city?
A city is comprised of people, not structures, systems and business. So the real quest is to control people, to rule people. This battle has existed among humanity ever since the fall, and it all honesty, we never truly get tired of the fight. We have been applauding, and rooting for heroes who fight against those who want to control humanity. We celebrate every victory and walk away from theaters as if the conquest was our own, and in some sense it is.
These heroes (Mutant Ninja Turtles) are a new breed of heroes, trained in secret. It had me thinking about the army spoken of in Joel 2, the likes of which this world has never seen — “Suddenly, like dawn spreading across the mountains, a great and mighty army appears. Nothing like it has been seen before or will ever be seen again. Fire burns in front of them, and flames follow after them. Ahead of them the land lies as beautiful as the Garden of Eden. Behind them is nothing but desolation; not one thing escapes. They look like horses; they charge forward like warhorses. Look at them as they leap along the mountaintops. Listen to the noise they make—like the rumbling of chariots, like the roar of fire sweeping across a field of stubble, or like a mighty army moving into battle. Fear grips all the people; every face grows pale with terror. The attackers march like warriors and scale city walls like soldiers. Straightforward they march, never breaking rank. They never jostle each other; each moves in exactly the right position. They break through defenses without missing a step. They swarm over the city and run along its walls. They enter all the houses, climbing like thieves through the windows. The earth quakes as they advance, and the heavens tremble. The sun and moon grow dark, and the stars no longer shine. The Lord is at the head of the column. He leads them with a shout. This is his mighty army, and they follow his orders. The day of the Lord is an awesome, terrible thing. Who can possibly survive?”
Within the sewers of our human existence, an army has been chosen and is being trained from all walks of life. This is a remnant prepared by the Lord for the next coming wave of His glory that will sweep through this earth like a tsunami. An army who will prepare humanity for God to “Pour out His Spirit on all humanity” (Joel 3:1). None will be exempt from this outpouring.
You may feel like an outcast because you have been experiencing things no one else can explain. It may be dreams, physical symptoms, the cause of which is unknown, sensations, premonition, or just a knowing that cannot be explained. You have been chosen. You are being trained. Humanity is stepping into the fullness of all they were meant to be from the very day they were formed and breath into. Evolution will take on a new definition that cannot exclude God from the equation. Atheism and skepticism will become a clear choice in light of the manifested evidence of the glory and presence of Almighty God. There fast approaches a day when ALL eyes will see God. It is called, “The Day of Adonai.”
