THE TRAVELLER --------------------------------- Jesse Stephens is a missionary and a musician who goes on a journey to find his mother. The Place..... His journey takes him to No Man's Land ruled by an Atheist named Lord Azor who has led a massive rebellion against Christians with the intention of wiping God clean off the lips of men. The Antagonist.... Lord Azor is responsible for the death of many
Christians, but with the Elders insisting that there The Story.... Jesse meets Eve, one of the few teenagers around and he learns that his mother is somewhere in No Man's Land. He has come too far to turn back now and even with a gun pointing at him and young, scarred lips warning him to move on...he tarries just the same. His persistence leads him to where his mother and cousin Zora is being kept...but there is something remarkably different about his Godly Mother...she has lost faith in God. The Music.... ...I read the play and wished it wouldn't end....-Michelle Morgan-
Armed with powerful solo voices and an old Hymn Book the scene erupts into worship the night before their execution and God answers in his usual way by breaking chains and saving souls. Biblical Reference..... The audience will identify with the struggles that Joseph faced, the challenges that Paul, Peter and others met and overcome and eventually...finally...we'll all be reminded of the source of our ultimate victory. . The Songs.... The songs that I choose for this musical are songs that we're familiar with such as 'Nearer my God to thee' and contemporary worship songs like 'Shout to the Lord' ' Praise the Lord' and more. No original songs are used as I envision the audience joining the singing and I especially wanted them to be able to worship with the cast during the Final Scene which explodes into a dynamic worship session.
