GUILTY AS CHARGED -------------------------------------- As Christians we make all the difference in this world. I hope you believe that....but in case you don't let me explain myself. When everyone gives up and throws in the towel, abandon morals and good values...we are expected to STAND firm on God's promises. God secretly uses that commitment and dedication to save people around us, and we probably won't even know until we get to heaven. Isn't that comforting to know? Well, this play has a little of that. For dedicating our lives unselfishly to the will of God...For committing ourselves to serving God's people...For following Christ Example...Guilty as Charged! Our countries are being run by ungodly men. I hope we do realize that they have the power to pass a law that our God is not to be worshipped. What would that mean for us? Suppose it was mandatory that we bow to idols, say in the name of national unity...would you bow? Well, this play has a little of that too. For refusing to worship any other form or image, rather than worshipping the true and living God...Guilty as Charged! What if the relationship between you and your best friend is complicated because you don't believe the same thing? What if you were placed in a position where to uphold the law you had to sentence your best friend to death? What would you do? Well, this play has a little of that also. For refusing to compromise my faith and deny the sacrifice that Jesus made for me on the cross...Guilty as Charged! What if you're face with situations where food becomes scarce and to believe in God would be a serious crime against the law punishable only by death? What if you're faced with these choice...would you choose to stand with God or follow the crowd to save your life? These are the questions this play addresses and if you want a practical, intense and a very effective way to ask your church and community these questions...then you need to take this play to them. Take them on an emotional journey they may never forget, as they walk with these characters from liberty to bondage (with a little surprise at the end). Help them to face these questions directly, because the truth is...we may very well face these issues in the near future. As a matter of fact, some countries are already experiencing it, to a certain degree. "...Of these same charges...how do YOU Plea?"
